It was fun. The food was good. We had a pretty good time. However, as far as a whisky tasting event, it didn't really hit the mark. Additionally, it was crowded and our taste buds were less effective about half way through the event.

The Whisky Tasting Festivus is planned to be an event where you can walk away (we hope!) having improved your knowledge and experience with the spirit. If you don't need improvement, then feel free to just join us and share your knowledge. As for the rest of us, we are going to be learning.

After the tasting has concluded, there will be whisky left. At that point, a [[poker tournament|Poker Festivus]] will be played to determine who gets what.

There are two planned schemes for the Whisky Festivus in terms of what will be available for tasting. The whiskeys available are to include some that are quite expensive and some that are are not so expensive. The number of participants is needed before exact information can be available.

: Focus on the more peaty whiskeys from Scotland, such as the ones commonly found in Islay. Whiskeys of varying levels are to be available that fit this description.

: Include whiskeys representative of many parts of the world, providing some opportunities to compare the various types.

: A blind tasting is planned that will include 3 different whiskeys.
